Sunny Days after the Storm

To my AMHCA Colleagues - especially AMHCA Colleagues in the Southeast U.S. -

"Stay Positive" Wishes from your AMHCA President after Hurricane Matthew!
How is everyone there?

Sending a message out to my AMHCA Colleagues on this extraordinary and beautiful sunny Fall day in North Carolina after several days of horrific weather events.
The flood waters are still on the rise and many have not yet receded as many rivers and estuaries are beyond historic flood markers.
Very grateful as we are "alive and well" despite the horrific mess we have here in Fayetteville in the last two weeks.
Last week Fayetteville, NC got 12" inches of rain.
Then came Hurricane Matthew to bring the total up to 27" of rain.
Where I live, power came back on but ironically, we still have a "Water Emergency" due to a complete failure at the water plant which was flooded and had water main breaks.
No showers and drink only bottled water until the "All Clear" from NC Water Testing officials.
If you are bored, here is a YouTube Video of someone kayaking in the middle of downtown Fayetteville right after the Hurricane - http://abcn.ws/2dQspr8
So, we are grateful and "Resilient" and at least here at Fort Bragg, we love to "brag" about being ARMY STRONG!
I knew many of you have great empathy for those of us on the South East Coast. I hope we can keep weather disasters at a minimum for a while!
So, remember, for the most part, there is generally some sunshine after the storm. We are stronger and more grateful for the hard times. Sometimes, these weather disasters help to put our priorities in order, brings out the best in people and gives the true meaning of life a better definition.

My best regards - Suzanne
