Bio

Mark S. Gerig, Ph.D. is Professor of Counseling at Divine Mercy University, Sterling, Virginia. He has over 25 years of experience of teaching graduate counseling and providing services in community mental health settings. Dr. Gerig is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Indiana and a Licensed Psychologist in Michigan. He is author of the text Foundations for Clinical Mental Health Counseling: An Introduction to the Profession, 3rd ed. (2018, Pearson) and has presented at numerous national and regional conferences and workshops. His research interests are in wellness, counselor professional identity, and intellectual virtues in counselor development and practice.
